First Alert: Cooler, fall-like air has returned!

Our first of two cold fronts this week has passed through central Alabama...

Lee's Wednesday Night Update

MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - Our cold front has passed, and cooler air is settling into the area.

Temperatures widely ranged across the state today as cold air worked its way southeast. Highs didn’t leave the 60s in our far northwestern counties, but reached the upper 80s in the Wiregrass.

Temperatures tonight will fall into the 50s, so it will be a much more comfortable start to our Thursday morning. You may want a light jacket when heading out the door to work! You’ll then want to shed that jacket as Thursday will turn into a pleasant and beautiful day with sunny skies and highs in the upper 70s.

Friday will be almost a carbon copy of Thursday.

Our next, stronger cold front will push into Alabama Saturday and bring a decent chance for rain. You’ll want to keep your WSFA First Alert Weather App handy that day to track the rain, as there are many outdoor events taking place! Not everyone will receive rain, but about 60% of you will see a shower or downpour.

After a rainy Saturday, lovers of cool fall weather can rejoice-- behind the rain will come much cooler temperatures. Sunday and Monday may not even leave the 60s! Also, check out those lows... Monday and Tuesday morning you’ll definitely want to grab you jacket before stepping out the door!

Rain will be a good bet Saturday, then much cooler air moves in behind it.
