Parades, tree lightings help River Region celebrate Christmas

MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - There are numerous Christmas-related events scheduled in the River Region and central Alabama, including parades and the lighting of Christmas trees. The following is a list of events to help celebrate Christmas :

Thursday, Dec. 6

4 p.m. - Christmas in Camden, Santa arrives at 5 p.m.

6 p.m. - Greenville Tree Lighting and Christmas Parade

Friday, Dec. 7

5:30 p.m. - Annual state Christmas tree lighting ceremony

6:00 p.m. - Clanton Christmas Parade

Saturday, Dec. 8

(Rescheduled for Dec. 15) All Day - Christmas on the Coosa, Wetumpka - 2 p.m. street parade, 6 p.m. fireworks/wakeboarding Santa

(Rescheduled for Dec. 11) 11 a.m. - Crenshaw County Chamber of Commerce Christmas Parade

3 p.m. - Brantley, Front Porch Christmas Parade

Sunday, Dec. 9

2 p.m. - Auburn Christmas Parade

Tuesday, Dec. 11

11 a.m. - Crenshaw County Chamber of Commerce Christmas Parade

Friday, Dec. 14

6:15 p.m. - Montgomery Christmas/Camellia Bowl Parade

Saturday, Dec. 15

All Day - Christmas on the Coosa, Wetumpka - 2 p.m. street parade, 6 p.m. fireworks/wakeboarding Santa
