Former Huntsville school superintendent confirmed as Army assistant secretary

HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) - Huntsville’s former school superintendent is returning to his military roots.

Casey Wardynski has been named assistant secretary of the Army. He retired as a colonel in the Army before entering education.

The Senate confirmed him Thursday night with an official title of Assistant Secretary of the Army for Manpower and. Reserve Affairs.

He resigned from Huntsville City Schools in 2016.
