GREENVILLE, AL (WSFA) - Greenville Police Chief Justin Lovvorn says the Greenville Bypass, a major artery into the city, has reopened hours after first responders worked a fatal crash and clean up crews resolved issues with a resulting hazmat spill.

Lovvorn said the area affected included the Greenville Bypass from Glendale Ave. to New Searcy Road.

The police chief said the roadway has been sanded so commuters need to reduce speed and drive with caution.

No additional details surrounding the fatal crash or the victim’s name have been released.
