Pinson Valley QB Bo Nix wins Mr. Football

MONTGOMERY, AL (WBRC) - Former Pinson Valley quarterback Bo Nix won the 2018 ASWA Mr. Football award Tuesday afternoon.

Nix finished the season leading Pinson Valley to a second straight AHSAA Class 6A State Championship while throwing for 3,496 yards and 48 touchdowns, and rushing for six more touchdowns. Nix also took home the Class 6A Back of the Year award.

Nix, who enrolled at Auburn in January, set new AHSAA records for career total offense and career total touchdowns. Nix joins former Auburn football stars Kerryon Johnson, Jeremy Johnson, Roc Thomas, and Clint Moseley to take home the Mr. Football award.

Former Thompson quarterback and Alabama signee Taulia Tagovailoa finished in the top three for the award. Tagovailoa threw for 3,728 yards and 35 touchdowns and led the Warriors to a runner-up finish in Class 7A.

Taulia enrolled at Alabama in January.
