MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - Heads up! A few isolated strong to severe storms are possible Saturday.
Before then, Friday will start with areas of fog and a few showers possible. High temperatures will be warmer in the mid 60s.
As for Saturday, recent model runs have trended slightly more aggressively with instability, and it’s possible a few storms could become strong to marginally severe. The primary concern is damaging straight-line winds, although a quick spin-up tornado cannot be ruled out. Rain and storms will push into western Alabama first, becoming widespread as they move across the state and push into eastern Alabama, so the window of opportunity for strong storms would run from roughly 10am (west) to 8pm (east).
The threat for severe storms is limited, but not zero, so stay weather-aware and check back here for new details as we head towards the weekend.
Once the line of strong storms associated with Saturday’s cold front moves through, much colder air will arrive. Temperatures will drop throughout the day Sunday, with highs only in the low 40s.
