Former Jeff Davis player, state championship ring reunited after 20 years

Former Jeff Davis player, lost ring reunited after 20 years

MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - Friday at halftime of the Lanier vs. Jeff Davis girls basketball game, a Jeff Davis alum was reunited with something he lost long ago.

Brian Williams was a member of the Jeff Davis High School basketball team that won a state championship in 1995. He was Alabama’s Mr. Basketball in 1995, but had been apart from his state championship ring for over 20 years.

“It was huge. This was an accomplishment that we did in 1995. It’s been a very long time. Gave the ring to my father. In some kind of way he misplaced it. For it to come back now, almost 20 years later in great condition, it was just exhilarating,” said Williams.
