Melissa Johnson is the news reporter for the top ranked Today in Alabama morning show on WSFA 12 News. She also anchors the Sunday Edition of Today in Alabama and fill-in anchors WSFA 12 News at Noon. She has been with WSFA for 6 years, working her way up from intern to the Morning News.
She came to WSFA in January 2008 as an intern and produced the weekend editions of the News at Nine before her move to reporting. She loves having the opportunity to wake up Central Alabama with a smile, informing them of local happenings and preparing them for the day ahead.
Melissa is a graduate of Emerge Montgomery's Class V Torchbearers Leadership Class. She is also a member of the Junior League of Montgomery. Melissa graduated Magna Cum Laude from Auburn University, where she majored in Radio, Television, and Film with a minor in Spanish. Melissa grew up in Cullman, Alabama, and has called Alabama home her entire life. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, running, traveling, and of course, cheering on her Auburn Tigers. War Eagle!
