Melissa Johnson is a general assignment reporter for WSFA 12 News.
She came to WSFA in January 2008 as an intern and produced the weekend editions of Fox News at Nine from August 2008 - June 2009 before her move to reporting.
Melissa graduated Magna Cum Laude from Auburn University in 2009, where she majored in Radio, Television, and Film with a minor in Spanish. While at Auburn, Melissa anchored, reported, and produced for the on-campus television news station, Eagle Eye News. Her senior year, she served as the Station Manager, where she oversaw the overall operations of the station. Also at Auburn, she was a member of the War Eagle Girls and Plainsmen, the official hosts and hostesses of Auburn University.
Melissa's interest in television news was sparked during high school, after visiting a news station in Birmingham, Alabama; she loved the fast-paced and exciting environment. She also loves meeting people and having the opportunity to tell their story.
Melissa grew up in Cullman, Alabama, and has called Alabama home her entire life. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, running, traveling, organizing, and of course, cheering on her Auburn Tigers. War Eagle!
Melissa is excited to serve the folks in Montgomery and the Wiregrass.
