JACKSONVILLE, AL (WSFA) - More Alabama National Guard troops headed to Iraq.  The 2025th Transportation Company received a sendoff Wednesday at Jacksonville State University.

Many are already Iraq war veterans.  The 2025th's first mobilization was in March 2003 when the unite provided transportation support to the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, New York for three months.  The unit was then assigned to Fort Benning, Georgia to provide support for both Operations Noble Eagle and Enduring Freedom before being released from active duty in late July 2004.

The Jacksonville unit has members from as far away as Montgomery, Albertville and Calera.

With the current mobilization of the 2025th, more than 14,000 Alabama Army and Air Guard members have now been called to active duty since September 11, 2001 in our nation's global war on terror.
