DOTHAN, AL (WSFA) - Mike Schmitz will take the reins as Dothan's new mayor in a landslide election.

More than 86 percent of the 10,000 people who went to the polls thought Schmitz was the right man for the job. Opponent Keith Seagle garnered 14 percent and officially conceded the race just before 8:00pm.

Also on the ballot: Sunday alcohol sales. The measure passed by a 60/40 margin.

Several district commission seats and board of education seats were also up for grabs Tuesday.
