AUBURN, AL (WSFA) - Auburn University officials say a student who has been missing overseas for more that two weeks has been found.

Michael Griffin Harrie was last seen on July 14 walking past security cameras in the Bangkok Airport in Thailand.

Investigators in Thailand contacted Auburn University's Department of Public Safety to report that Harrie left the country on Wednesday, July 29. According to authorities he appeared to be safe and apparently left the country under his own free will.

The 29-year-old's disappearance sparked an international search after he failed to meet up with his parents in Tokyo, Japan on July 16.

Harrie's father even hired a private investigator and the University sent a representative to Thailand to assist in the search.

Harrie is a vet student at Auburn. It wasn't immediately known when he would return to the United States.
