
Announcing the plan Wednesday.MONTOGOMERY, AL - A new scholarship program is designed to help two-year college system graduates in Alabama complete a four-year degree free at Alabama State University or Alabama A&M University.
Education officials announced Wednesday the Transfer Scholarship Program that will provide scholarships covering tuition and fees for up to 500 graduates of community or technical college this fall.
The number could double next year, depending on funding. The two schools will determine criteria on who is eligible.
The program's launch was funded by the Legislature with $1 million from the state Education Trust Fund for the fall semester.
