MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - The NCAA student-athlete reinstatement staff confirms it has reinstated the eligibility of two Crimson Tide football players.

Student-athletes Julio Jones and Mark Ingram were reinstated and will be able to play in Saturday's game based on a condition of repayment.

The officials investigation concluded that "the student-athletes received impermissible food, lodging, transportation and entertainment from an individual with whom one of the student-athletes had become acquainted prior to enrolling in college."

The University of Alabama self-reported the violation and declared both Jones and Ingram ineligible. Each had to make repayments of the value of the benefits to charity.

"During the reinstatement process, the NCAA staff considers a number of factors including guidelines established by the NCAA Division I Committee on Student-Athlete Reinstatement, relevant case precedent, the student-athlete's responsibility for the violation, as well as any mitigating factors presented by the institution," the NCAA said in a statement.

The athletes took a Gulf Coast fishing trip with an Athens man named Curtis Anderson during the spring.

Anderson, 56, said he was friends with the players and doesn't care about football. He is disabled and said the two players helped him into his boat.
