DOTHAN, AL (WSFA) - Construction is nonstop at the multimillion dollar entertainment venue country crossing.

Daily over 300 workers are logging hours to meet a December deadline to finish the first phase of project.

Stars fell on Houston County and Country Crossing Thursday.

Country music star Randy Owen treated hundreds to a little taste of what's expected regularly when County Crossing opens its gates December 1st.

"The work that I do helps creates employment," explained Randy Owens.

"To have him involved in our project in such a robust way is very very significant," added developer Ronnie Gilley.

The first phase of construction includes, a 5,000 seat amphitheater, R.V. Park, bed and breakfast, four restaurants and the bingo pavilion.

"We are truly bringing about an entertainment extravaganza and with it comes change and we're saying it will be a great change and it will create an equitable distribution of opportunity," said Gilley.

Gilley says he's reversing the trend and when the gates open it will be apparent.

"Hopefully when the doors are open everybody will see that is an entertainment extravaganza not Las Vegas style casinos that's what we hope," added Gilley.

Once the gates on the first phase, work starts right away on phase two.

Developers expect to hire around a thousand people when phase one of project is completed.
