Marla H. Wohlman, M.D., has been practicing for 23 years and holds degrees from Wellesley College and Medical College of Georgia. Her post-graduate General Surgery residency training was done at Louisiana State University. She has also done residency training in Medical Acupuncture at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). Dr. Wohlman is credentialed through the American Academy of Medical Acupuncture, International Mesotherapy Institute, American College for the Advancement of Medicine, Academy for Anti-Aging Medicine, North American Menopause Society and American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery.
Dr. Wohlman is on speaker bureaus for numerous compounding pharmacies, as well as Solvay and Proctor & Gamble Pharmaceuticals. She also gives public lectures on Bio-identical Hormone Replacement throughout Alabama and provides internship training for medical and peri-medical professionals who seek training in Bio-identical Hormone Replacement.
In her time away from her medical practice, Dr. Wohlman breeds and shows Peruvian horses. She is active politically with the National Peruvian Horse organization and the Legacy Breeders Council. She and her son, Harrison, are involved with the horses and the alpacas at their ranch, Hacienda Nirvana. Their fondness of animals extends to their wide ranging community involvement with the Humane Society, several Zoological societies and other animal/ wildlife charitable organizations.
