CAMP HILL, AL (WSFA) - A U.S. Postal worker has been murdered at the postal facility in Camp Hill near Alexander City. The Postal Inspector's office confirmed the death to WSFA 12 News.

Though the victim has not been identified, the inspector's office tells WSFA 12 News he was a highway contract driver who drove one of the large delivery vehicles. He was not a letter carrier.

The killing happened some time between 6:10pm and 6:15pm Friday on the grounds of the Camp Hill Post Office. Because of the location the investigation falls into federal jurisdiction.

The U.S. Postal Inspector is asking for any public help that may be available. If you were in the area and saw anything suspicious call them immediately. (1-877-876-2455)

The Camp Hill Post Office will be closed Saturday.

A reward of up to  $100,000 is being offered for information leading to the arrest(s) of the suspect(s).

WSFA 12 News will be in Tallapoosa County Saturday, and will bring you the very latest information as it becomes available.
