
MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - The Alabama Tourism Department says there are lots of places to see haunted history and hear stories about Alabama ghosts during October.
The self-guided Black Belt Ghost Tour is available every day. Kathryn Tucker Windham will be telling ghost stories at the Alabama Tale Tellin' Festival in Selma on Oct. 9-10. The Oakleigh Historic Complex in Mobile will have ghostly characters bringing regional legends to life on Oct. 22-24. Athens will have its annual Historic Haunts Walk for five days.
Huntsville is having a ghost walking tour each Saturday through October. Events are also planned in Tuscumbia, Thomasville, Demopolis, Gadsden and Florence.
