Montgomery, AL (WSFA) - The U.S. Capitol will soon house a statue of Alabama native Helen Keller.
The Governor and First Lady will leave Tuesday for the unveiling. This will be the first statue in the capitol rotunda depicting someone with disabilities, and it will be the first of a child. The statue will show Keller as a 7-year-old at her family's water pump at the moment she began to learn language.
