DOTHAN, AL (WSFA) - Country Crossing developers are in their third week of hiring and Thursday were looking for more than 200 potential restaurant employees at the entertainment venue.
The lines were stretching out the door at the Wiregrass Rehabilitation Center, with everyone in search of a job at Country Crossing.
"Anything available, I heard they are hiring for a cook so I'll cook for them," says Ben McClendon, a Dothan resident.
McClendon is just one of the hundreds who filled out applications so far.
"Give everybody some work, man it's hard to find a job out here" adds McClendon.
"Really anything, any position of anything of any kind, anything that will throw out a check at the end of the week," says Brandon Collins, who is also waiting to interview for a job.
Human resources officials say close to 600 hundred people have already filled out applications just two days into the job fair. And a little over 200 of those people will be hired in the next month.
"We had applicants lined up this morning out the door to the road, so it's very exciting,' says Michelle Grantham, Human Resources Director.
Country Crossing will boast restaurants, entertainment venues, electronic bingo and more. And for prospective employees, it could also mean a steady paycheck.
"I thinks it's going to be a fun environment to work in, and it's going to give lots of people jobs and get them out of this slump that they are in," says Brandi Smith, who travelled from Slocomb to come to the fair.
A hope that could be fulfilled when doors open in December.
Friday is the last day of the job fair.
If you'd like to apply for one of the available jobs, interviews are taking place in the Lions Building at Wiregrass Rehabilitation Center.
The fair is from 8:30 am to 5 pm.
