Byrne announces Montgomery leadership team

Posted: Updated:

MONTGOMERY, AL - Reform-minded Republican gubernatorial candidate Bradley Byrne, who, as former chancellor of Alabama's two-year college system has been credited with cleaning up an entrenched culture of institutional corruption inside the post secondary system, today announced a distinguished group of  Montgomery business and community leaders who have committed their support to him and will serve, under the leadership of Campaign Chairman and Abbeville businessman Jimmy Rane, as key advisers to the Byrne for Alabama campaign.

Making Monday's announcement, Byrne said, "It is truly an honor and a distinct privilege to announce the tremendous group of Alabamians who have generously offered their support and considerable time, talents and resources to this campaign and to our goal of moving Alabama forward on the strength of proven, conservative leadership.

"I am humbled by the caliber of the team of men and women who have stepped up and agreed to work with us. Each of them has proven their commitment to building a better Alabama, and their support brings a great level of respect and energy to our campaign," Byrne added. "Their work will be critical to our campaign as we mobilize our grassroots effort and take our call for serious ethics reform, meaningful education improvement, and vigorous economic development to Alabamians all across the state in the coming weeks and months."

Montgomery County Co-Chair Heather Sellers also enthusiastically weighed in on the impressive leadership team during the announcement, which was held on the Capitol steps facing Dexter Avenue.

"The proven leaders and respected citizens represented on the Montgomery County Byrne for Alabama Team are indicative of the strong support Bradley Byrne has already earned from one end of Alabama to the other," Sellers said. "I look forward to working with this team of committed Alabamians to make sure Bradley is elected the next governor of Alabama and has the opportunity to continue his successful record as an inspiring leader and tireless reformer."
