WASHINGTON, D.C. (WSFA) - Members of Alabama's congressional delegation come together to challenge the defense department.
The goup is pressing the DOD to reconsider the bidding process for air force refueling tankers.
Tuesday the delegation signed a letter to secretary Robert Gates urging him to change the process.
Northrup Grumman was selected over Boeing which then said their bid came in lowest.
Republican Senator Richard Shelby stated, "it's not a level plyaing field. I believe it's a shame and this is not the way to procure anything out of the Pentagon."
Northrup Grumman plans to build an assembly in Mobile if it wins the $35 billion dollar contract.
