ANDALUSIA, Ala. (AP) - The former pastor of an Andalusia church is facing 152 charges stemming from allegations he sexually abused and tortured young boys while on camping trips.

The Andalusia Star-News reports Covington County Sheriff Dennis Meeks revealed the scope of the case against 54-year-old Ralph Lee Aaron at a press conference Tuesday.

He said the case began last week after a mother who'd heard rumors about a 2005 incident involving Aaron had a frank conversation with her son.

The mother determined her son might have had inappropriate contact with Aaron and contacted authorities.

Lead investigator Wesley Snodgrass said officers found more than 100 pornographic images Aaron allegedly downloaded from the Internet as well as some images taken of his alleged local victims.

Aaron is being held in the Covington County Jail on $24.2 million bond.
