MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - A new report shows Alabamians pay less in taxes than residents of almost any other state.
The date from the U.S. Census Bureau shows Alabama had the third lowest average state and local tax collections per person as a percentage of personal income.
When asked about the report, Governor Riley said, "the relatively low taxes are good for the economy because they help attract new businesses and retirees to the state."
