MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - The attempted murder/domestic violence case Montgomery police officers have been working on much of the day Thursday is now being upgraded to murder.

Cara Hall, 37, died a short time ago at Baptist South Hospital. She'd been shot multiple times.

Her body was discovered around noon at the Greenbriar Apartments on Virginia Loop Road.

The suspect, Hall's estranged husband, is 49-year-old William Hall. He's being held in the Montgomery County Detention Facility under a $250,000 bond.

The couple, from Wetumpka, were apparently going through a divorce.

The Wetumpka Police Department and the Elmore County Sheriffs Department arrested Hall and turned him over to detectives with the Montgomery Police Department.

Cara Hall is the 28th murder victim of 2009 in the capital city.
