BESSEMER, Ala. (AP) - A jury in Bessemer has convicted 21-year-old Lakendall Sims of 2 counts of capital murder.
Jefferson County Circuit Judge Mac Parsons sentenced Sims to life without parole on Thursday on the jury's unanimous recommendation.
Sims was convicted of murder committed during a kidnapping and murder committed during a robbery in the May 2007 death of Gabriel Alaniz.
In January, Sims was convicted of the 2007 murder of 19-year-old Mary Catherine Williams and was sentenced to two consecutive terms of life in prison.
He also is serving a 20-year sentence at Donaldson Correctional Facility for second-degree rape.
