STARKVILLE, MS - No. 3 ranked Alabama used long drives, quick strikes and a stifling defensive effort to defeat Mississippi State 31-3 and improve to 10-0 on the season in front of a Davis Wade Stadium record crowd of 58,103.

Sophomore Mark Ingram rushed for 149 yards on 19 attempts including a pair of touchdowns. His second touchdown of the night was an electrifying 70-yard, one-play touchdown drive run.

Junior quarterback Greg McElroy threw for 192 yards and two touchdowns on the night, completing 13 passes on 18 attempts. Three Crimson Tide receivers had catches of more than 40 yards, including two for touchdowns by sophomore Julio Jones and junior Darius Hanks.

Defensively, senior Rolando McClain gathered 10 tackles including three for a loss while sophomore Mark Barron hauled in a pair of interceptions and broke up two passes including one in the end zone late in the game.

Alabama returns to action in its final home game of the season against Tennessee-Chattanooga next Saturday. The game is slated for a 11:20 a.m. kick off and will be televised on the SEC Network.
