The crash happened near the 62 mile marker on U.S. 231 northbound in Pike County Monday afternoon as the trooper attempted to pull over a vehicle.
Trooper Kevin Cook tells WSFA 12 News the unidentified officer had his blue lights activated and was attempting to turn his marked patrol car around when it was struck by a Dodge pick-up truck.
Medics transported both to Troy Regional Medical Center for treatment.
