TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) - Alabama senior nose guard Terrence Cody has been named 1 of 5 finalists for the Bronko Nagurski Trophy.
The Football Writers Association and the Charlotte Touchdown Club in North Carolina announced Thursday that Cody was a finalist for the award, which the writers association gives to its defensive player of the year.
Other finalists include Iowa linebacker Pat Angerer, Tennessee strong safety Eric Berry, TCU defensive end Jerry Hughes and Nebraska defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh.
Cody received national attention for his play against Tennessee, when he blocked two field goal attempts in the final 10 minutes.
