Stacy sues Dothan 911 board after fatal wreck

Posted: Updated:

DOTHAN, Ala. (AP) - Former University of Alabama football player Siran Stacy is suing the Dothan/Houston County E911 Board and the estate of a drunken driver who caused a fatal 2007 crash.

Stacy's wife and four of his children were killed in the wreck. The Dothan Eagle reports the suit was filed Thursday. It accuses the board and Adam Wayman's estate of wrongful death and negligence. The lawsuit says motorists made multiple 911 calls to report Wayman's erratic driving, but their calls were transferred to Dale County E911. The suit says Wayman began driving his truck at least 7 miles away from Stacy's van and the misrouted calls prevented adequate time for authorities to intercept the drunken driver.

Stacy's lawsuit calls for a jury trial to determine the damages and is filed on behalf of him and his family.
