MOBILE, Ala. (AP) - The University of South Alabama's top student leader is being accused of failure to perform his duties.
The Student Government Association's Supreme Court is scheduled on Tuesday to consider the case against SGA President Glenn Gardner, a junior from Ocean Springs who is majoring in political science and attends school on an Army ROTC scholarship.
The Mobile Press-Register Gardner reports that Gardner says he won't address the issue until the court process concludes.
He told the student newspaper that he does his best to juggle his studies, ROTC training and student government obligations.
Basia Smith, the SGA Senate member who filed the charges against Gardner, says her charges include absences from events Gardner is required to attend, such as Board of Trustees meetings.
