MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - Montgomery mayor has an innovative way to re-use the fried turkey oil accumulated from river region families that will be feasting on fried turkey rather than bake turkey. Today, Mayor Todd Strange will reveal the details of a recycling program that converts used cooking oil into bio diesel fuel in a news conference this afternoon.
A similar recycling program in Daphne, Al has reduced sewer spills and grease blockages by more than 40 percent.
The news conference will begin at 2:30 p.m. in Hampstead, a Taylor Road neighborhood.
