MOBILE, Ala. (AP) - Forecasters say southwest Alabama could receive as much as 1 inch of snow by early Saturday from a winter storm system.
The National Weather Service says areas north of Bay Minette could see some accumulation, especially after 11 p.m. Friday. The snow is expected to end by Saturday morning.
Other parts of the state also could receive some snow. Forecasters say central Alabama could get a dusting, with up to a half-inch of snow in some areas. North Alabama could also get a little snowfall.
No travel problems are expected, and the weather service says the snow should melt quickly as temperatures rise Saturday morning.
