Troy University will host a number of events during February celebrating Black History Month. Members of the media are invited to cover any of the following scheduled activities:
Sunday, Feb. 7: "Alabama's Civil Rights Trail" bus tour featuring author Frye Gaillard. Discussion, roundtable, and reception at the Rosa Parks Museum auditorium and exhibition hall, 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Monday, Feb. 8: Workshop on civil rights for elementary and secondary students. Rosa Parks Museum, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Tuesday, Feb. 9: Screening of the film "The Negro Soldier (1944)" and roundtable discussion featuring black World War II veterans. Rosa Parks Museum auditorium, 6 p.m.
Friday, Feb. 12: Harlem Renaissance Parlor Party featuring poetry reading, jazz ensemble and reception. Tine's Alley in Whitley Hall, Montgomery Campus, 7 p.m.
