COWARTS, AL (WSFA) – A brand new metal manufacturing plant broke ground Tuesday morning in the town of Cowarts.

All Metal Roofing and Siding broke ground on their new metal manufacturing facility.

The plant will produce metal components for construction companies and could employee up to 40 people when they open later this year.

"I think this is one of the greatest locations left in the Dothan area, you have good highway access here off the circle and on to 84 which is a major highway," says John Dill, president of All Metal.

Along with welcoming their newest business to Cowarts, the town council also received grant money to complete infrastructure work...

"This is a big plus for Houston County and we appreciate they considered Cowart," said Randy Roland, Mayor of Cowarts.

Officials say the grant money will also help with future developments here in the Cowarts area.

"It will put us in a stronger position so that projects can get in the ground faster and we don't have to develop a whole lot of infrastructure so I think it is going to expedite ands speed up growth for this section of our community," says Matt Parker, of the Dothan Area Chamber of Commerce.

The 25,000 square foot building is located off highway 84 east.

The plant hopes to open their doors in April.
