MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) – The Wal-Mart Foundation State Giving Program will present a $100,000 check to Alabama's First Lady Patsy Riley on behalf of PAL, the Parenting Assistance Line (PAL).
On Monday, March 8 at 10:00 a.m., First Lady Patsy Riley and Glen Wilkins from the Wal-Mart State Giving Program will be at the Prattville Wal-Mart Supercenter
Conceived by Patsy Riley, PAL is a collaborative service of the University of Alabama Child Development Resources in partnership with Wal-Mart and Alabama Children's Trust Fund (the Department of Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention), the Alabama Department of Mental Health /Mental Retardation and the State Department of Human Resources.
The Parenting Assistance Line provides a resource for parents to call when they need support. When callers call the toll-free number, 1-866-962-3030, a parenting resource specialist will answer the phone, listen and offer helpful information and support. Callers can also request free literature about their specific parenting concerns. Parent resource specialists are available 8 a.m.-8 p.m. Monday through Friday.
