MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - WSFA 12 News is sad to announce that we're losing one of our most talented employees.

Kim Hendrix announced to a crowded newsroom Wednesday afternoon that at the end of May, she will step down from her position at WSFA.

Kim made the announcement to viewers a short time later during WSFA 12 News at 5:00.

After 20 years at channel 12, Kim has decided to take a position with Saint James School in Montgomery. There, she will act as Director of Development.

Kim says, though it's tough to leave, she knows it's the right time for her and her family. The move will allow her to spend more time with her daughter, Annie, and husband Scott.

"I will miss you all. The viewers, your support, your love, your prayers all that you've shared with me over the years," Kim said, "and I'll spend the next month trying to say 'Thank you' and goodbye."

Kim's last day will be May 26th, but she's promising to come back and help with special reports in the future!

From all of us here at WSFA 12 News, we would like to wish Kim and her family the very best.
