LOS ANGELES, CA (WSFA) - In less than 24 hours the all new 2011 Hyundai Elantra will be unveiled to the public. It's a car executives believe will only bring more recognition to a brand already gaining speed in the auto world.

For now, the Elantra hides behind a white drape as final preparations are made for the unveiling--15 minutes of fanfare executives claim will be a big show.

But, it's big news for the city of Montgomery where thousands of miles from Los Angeles, the Hyundai Motor Manufacturing plant has already started cranking out the Elantra. It comes on the heels of the most successful year Hyundai has seen thus far--slashing previous sales records with the all new Hyundai Sonata which is also produced in Montgomery.

Montgomery Mayor Todd Strange along with city council members and Chamber of Commerce leaders are in Los Angeles for the unveiling and are anxious to see the car expected to catapult 2011 sales and keep Hyundai production in overdrive.

"To move the Elantra production to Montgomery ensures that we're going to get that 300,000+ unit production.  And it does keep employment in Montgomery, Alabama. The overtime they're working obviously is good for the employees. It's good for our economy. It's good for this time of the season where we're close to the end of the year and the holidays," says Strange.

Montgomery leaders and Hyundai executives gathered for a preview party getting a sneak peek of the Elantra before Thursday morning's unveiling.
