MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - Country Crossing developer Ronnie Gilley is under house arrest as part of a court agreement that delays a hearing on bribery allegations against him.

Gilley's attorney, Doug Jones, asked for a continuance on the federal government's request to revoke the Dothan businessman's bond. Federal judge Terry Moorer agreed to the request, setting a new hearing for January 31.

Federal prosecutors want Gilley's bond revoked, accusing him of offering a bribe to former Country Crossing lobbyist Jarrod Massey before he pleaded guilty in the case last month.

Jones denies any wrong doing by his client and believes they will prevail.

As part of the deal Gilley will have to log all of his phone calls, but can still conduct business and use his computer, a decision Jones says is not unusual when the government is trying to revoke a person's bond.

According to the Associated Press, January 31 is also the day prosecutors are supposed to reveal information that had been blacked out in documents previously turned over to Gilley and other defendants in a vote buying investigation.
