Elmore County authorities are getting creative in their war on illegal drugs. Thursday, they made a big bust, but it is not the size of the bust that is getting the attention. It is the number of people arrested.
To stop illegal drugs, mainly crack cocaine, Elmore County deputies posed as drug dealers in a well known drug house in Wetumpka. Chris Ogden is a deputy. He says, "Vehicles would come up the driveway and we would have our guys waiting for them to make a buy and then we would catch them by surprise." Sheriff Bill Franklin says, "We had received several complaints from the neighborhood."
Over the course of six hours, deputies arrested 16 people who came to the house.
