Train Derails in Banks

A moving train and a parked train collided Tuesday morning in Banks. Incredibly, no one was injured considering a locomotive weighs around 200 tons.

The crash happened along Highway 93 in front of the Banks Primary School around 5:15 a.m. It's still unclear the cause of the accident.  Together, both trains stretched for about 2 miles.

CSX Railroad officials would not comment on a report that someone forgot to switch the tracks to allow the moving train to go in another direction. Despite the collision, there were no leaks from any of the tankers, and no evacuations ordered.
