A Millbrook student has been arrested for bringing a gun to school.
Police say a 16-year-old boy at Stanhope Elmore High School was arrested for carrying a concealed weapon.
Chief Kenneth Bradley says a brave student alerted a teacher about the potential danger.
"A teacher got a note that he might have a pistol in his bookbag," Bradley explains. "The note was taken to the principals office. The principal came and got him with a security officer. The pistol was in his bookbag inside another bag."
Chief Bradley says the student told him he was carrying the weapon because he was having trouble with a couple of other students at the school.
Investigators say the boy got the gun from his mother's boyfriend.
