Prison Commissioner's Attorneys Ask for More Time

Alabama's overcrowded prisons saw some court time today.

Attorneys for Prison Commissioner Richard Allen went back in front of Judge William Shashy to ask for more time.

Shashy ordered Allen to move at least 187 state prisoners from county jails to prison no later than May 31.

If the department of corrections doesn't comply, Allen could go to jail.

Shashy blasted Allen for public statements claiming he ordered the corrections department to release dangerous criminals and that he had belittled state employees.

Shashy was even angrier Allen wasn't in court.
