FBI Arrest Four in Mobile Mortgage Fraud Scheme

MOBILE, Ala. -- Four south Alabama residents are charged in a federal indictment with bilking Regions Bank out of almost $1 million in what prosecutors called a mortgage fraud scheme.

An FBI spokesman in Mobile said agents arrested 38-year-old Kathy Frye of Eight Mile; and three Mobile residents: 48-year-old Joycelyn Easter; 27-year-old Antonio Harrison and 49-year-old Darlene Hill on Tuesday.

They are each charged with four counts of wire fraud and four counts of loan fraud. All the defendants pleaded not guilty at an arraignment hearing in Mobile federal court.

No trial date was announced.
