Candlelight Vigil and Public Funeral Planned for Slain Officer

A candle light vigil in memory of slain Montgomery Police Officer Keith Houts will be held Monday at 7:30 p.m. It will take place near the memorial to fallen officers outside the Montgomery Police Department. Mayor Bobby Bright and Police Chief Art Baylor will be among the speakers.

A public funeral service for Officer Houts is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday at Frazer Memorial United Methodist Church.

A private funeral also will be held for the family in the Birmingham area.
