SELMA, Ala., Feb. 20, 2007 -- An apparent gas leak delayed the start of classes at Selma High School Tuesday morning.
Teachers and administrators reported smelling gas in the school and school officials tell WSFA 12 News that Alagasco and the local fire department were called in to investigate.
It appears that the gas leak may have originated in a science lab. Alagasco turned off the gas.
Students waited outside until the building was cleared for re-entry. Officials say there was about a 20 minute wait for the students.
At this time there are no reports of illness. Officials say everything is back to normal and classes are in session.
