Gameday Changes at Alabama, Auburn, Troy, and Alabama State

College football season got underway Thursday night. Almost all local teams kick-off on Saturday and many fans expect some changes.

Alabama

At Alabama, three hours before kick-off the entire core campus area will be closed to traffic. A new shuttle service called the Crimson Ride will be available to all fans, and it is free. There is on-going construction on I-59 between the Mercedes exit and Cottondale, so traffic will be slow in all both directions. If you are driving in from Birmingham on I-20/I-59 look for the new game day signs to help you get to the stadium quickly.

Auburn

There are also some changes at Auburn. An ATM will now be placed on the west side of Jordan-Hare stadium.   Tiger Tailgate will start 4 hours before each game at Plainsman Park. Fans who need a ride can use their cell phones to check the Auburn web site for up to the minute status on the shuttles. Also new at Auburn this year, the stadium has the SEC's first high definition video board. It will be used for high definition replays, game score, player stats, and other game scores.  

Troy

At Troy, the university is in the middle of a major renovation project at its baseball stadium, and because of that, there will be no fan parking allowed on Tailgate Terrace. Corporate tents will still be there, along with a brand new kids zone.  

Alabama State University

The biggest change at Alabama State is a brand new coach. Reggie Barlow takes over at his alma mater. ASU takes on in state rival Jacksonville State on Saturday at Cramton Bowl.

Tuskegee, Faulkner, and Huntingdon are also getting ready for football. This is Faulkner's first team.
