A Salem congregation is without a house of worship.
The "Greater Bethelpore Baptist Church" went up in flames just before four this morning.
A passerby spotted the burning church and called the fire department.
People living near the church say this is a sad way to start the new year.
Investigators are trying to figure out how it started.
Investigators believe a church in Russell County was deliberately set on fire a few days ago.
