"It begins at Auburn!" That is the name of a fund drive the university launched two years ago, and has now ended with record breaking results.
The university set a lofty goal of raising a half-billion dollars. Now comes word donors exceeded the goal by more than 20 percent. The grand total is $609-million-dollars.
Here is how most of the money will be split up. $191 million goes to student support. $36 million goes to faculty support, $72 million to facilities, and $310 million to program support.
This news comes less than a week after Auburn's Board of Trustees increased tuition 12 percent last Friday to make up for a budget shortfall.
