Mario Hendricks (Hendrix) joined the WSFA news team in August of 2006 as an operations technician. He was recently promoted to Associate Internet Content Manager in January 2008. Mario is also the internet producer for WSFA's webcast team.
Mario has been working in television since 2002. He is a graduate of Trenholm State Technical College, where he graduated atop the dean's list with a 4.0 GPA in Radio/Television Broadcasting. He is now a senior at Alabama State University and plans to graduate in 2009 with a Bachelor's degree in Communications.
Mario was born and raised here in Montgomery and is very active within the community. He is an ambassador for the River Region United Way and a volunteer with the Sickle Cell Foundation of Greater Montgomery. Mario has been WSFA's United Way Campaign Chairman for the past two years and has implemented a recycling program to donate money to that charity's general fund budget. He has recently received a WSFA Team Achievement Award for his community involvement.
Both Mario and his daughter live with Sickle Cell Anemia and that is what drives him to advocate awareness of this debilitating disease.
